Mr Li Ka-shing, Honorary Chairman of the Shantou University Council, speaks at the Shantou University Commencement Ceremony. More than 2,400 graduates were conferred under-graduate, master, and doctoral degrees.

The Ministry of Education, the Guangdong Provincial Government and the Li Ka Shing Foundation signing a tripartite agreement to co-develop Shantou University. The agreement was reached to support Shantou University's continuing reform efforts and to expedite its development as an experimental model for reforms in higher education.
